Welcome!

I am a lawyer and doctoral sociology candidate at the University of Minnesota. Welcome to my site!

My research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of criminology, law, and justice. More specifically, my scholarship examines the success of criminal justice reforms from a comparative perspective and the effects of mass incarceration predatory practices in the reproduction of social inequalities. I have published my work in Crime, Law, and Social Change, Theoretical Criminology, and the Journal of Law and Society.

My journey into sociology and criminal justice studies started years ago as a law student fascinated by criminal law. Through the lens of sociology, I found a means to explore the criminal justice system from a broader perspective and contribute meaningfully to the creation of knowledge for the better good.

I aspire to instill in others the passion for knowledge and action. My teaching philosophy revolves around a key question: How can I empower my students to become creative thinkers and active professionals prepared to contribute to important criminal justice debates at the local, national, and international level?
